Side effects – High Dose Chemo & Stem Cell Transplant

4:42pm. Tuesday, December 30th 2014.

How I’m feeling: Very sick. A combination of the flu and an irritated esophagus from radiation therapy. I’ve been falling in and out of sleep all day, hot and then cold – and repeat.

A follow up on my previous post:

I found the paperwork that outlined the side effects from my high dose chemo and stem cell transplant. These images are those of which I snapped and SMS-ed on over to a couple of my good friends the day I came back from the hospital on this day:

You can read the rest of the post here.

One of my friend’s reaction: “Holy S#!^. That’s heavy” And heavy it was – and still is. It’s not easy signing off on line items like “Organ Failure” and “Death”

I experienced all of the above with the exception of diarrhea and death – I’m still here! The risks I have of organ failure (Although, I received lots of meds to prevent kidney failure throughout the procedure), a secondary Leukaemia and infertility (My status to be evaluated in springtime 2015) are still to be determined.
